Pedro Cunha/Pedro Solberg and Juliana Felisberta Silva/Larissa Franca won @ Rio

The second stop of Circuito Banco do Brasil Volei de Praia 2011 culminated yesterday at Cobacabana Beach, Rio De Janeiro with the first heading of Pedro Cunha and Pedro Solberg since the meeting of the pair again.At the women side Juliana Felisberta Silva and Larissa Franca were the winners.

After one and a half year without playing together, Pedro Cunha and Pedro Solberg won at Cobacabana Beach with 2-1 (21-16, 11-21, 23-21) against Emanuel Rego and Alison Cerutti in the final.To arrive them into final in their first tournament together this year, the pair also defeated Marcio/Ricardo by 2-0 (23-21, 22-20) in semi-final.In the third place match Marcio and Ricardo beated Ferramenta and Moises by 2 sets 0 (21-15, 28-26).

Juliana Felisberta Silva and Larissa Franca were the most succesful team at Cobacabana and extend their historical winning string.The pair defeated Taiana/Vivian by 2-0 (21-18, 21-11) in the final to gain the second title of the year at Brazil and this marks 10 consecutive headings and 50 victories in series in this competition. Talita Antunes and Maria Elisa won against Izabel and Eliza Maia with 2-0 to get the third place in Rio De Janeiro.

The Guaruja (SP) will be the third city to host the Circuito Banco do Brasil Volei de Praia 2011.The matches in the Sao Paulo coast will happen between the days 10 and 13 of February.

Ricardo and Marcio’s victory in Vitoria

Marcio Araujo and Ricardo Santos are the first winners of the year at Circuito Banco do Brasil Volei de Praia 2011.At the opening stop in Vitoria (means victory in Portuguese), the pair defeated Emanuel Rego and Alison Cerutti with 2-1 (20-22, 21-10, 15-8) in the final to place them to the highest of the podium in sands of Campuri.

Ricardo Santos, three-time olympic medalist, commented after the final ‘It is important to give confidence for this season, that will be extremely important, for the beginning of the olympic race and for the dispute of the World Championship.’

In the female event, champions of the Circuito Banco do Brasil Volei de Praia 2010, Larissa Franca and Juliana Felisberta Silva, had won the stage of opening of season 2011.The champions on the both national and Swatch Fivb circuits of 2010 defeated Talita and Maria Elisa with 2-0 (21-17, 21-18) in the final to capture the first title of the year.

After the opening stop in Victory, Circuito Banco do Brasil Beach Volleyball Tour 2011 will continue with Copacabana Beach, Rio De Janeiro stop,between days 27 and 30 of January.U-21 tournament will be at the same place from January 24-26.

Brezilya Ulusal Plaj Voleybolu Turu 20.Yılına ulaştı./Brazilian National Beach Volleyball Tour is ready to celebrate its 20th birthday.

1991 yılında başlayan Brezilya Ulusal Plaj Voleybolu Turu 13-16 Ocak tarihleri arasında oynanacak Campuri plajı, Vitoria, Espirito Santo ayağı ile 2011 sezonuna ve 20. yılına merhaba diyecek.

Ocak ve Nisan ayları arasında oynanacak turun ilk devresi 6 ayaktan oluşuyor.Daha sonra Swatch Fivb Dünya Turu’nun başlaması ile ara verilecek olan Brezilya Ulusal Plaj Voleybolu Turu 2011 sezonuna,Eylül ve Aralık ayları arasında oynanacak 2.devre (yine 6 ayak) maçları ile devam edilecek.

2011 sezonu ile birlikte Brezilya takımlarında yeni oluşumlar da göze çarpıyor.Geçen sene Brezilya Ulusal Plaj Voleybolu Turu’nda erkeklerde şampiyon olmayı başaran Pedro Cunha-Thiago Santos Barbosa ikilisi bu sezon farklı partnerle oynama kararı aldılar.Pedro Cunha, 2009 senesinin ilk yarısında birlikte oynadığı partneri Pedro Salgado ile, Thiago Santos Barbosa ise 2008 ve 2009 Dünya Turu’nun en başarılı oyuncuları arasında gösterilen Harley Marques ile birlikte mücadele edecek.

2008 Pekin Olimpiyatları’nın gümüş madalyalı oyuncusu Fabio Luiz, Bruno Oscar Schmidt ile takım oluştururken, efsanevi Brezilyalı Franco Neto (d:11.11.1966) ise genç yıldız Lipe ile birlikte oynayacak.

Yine geçen sene birlikte oynamaya başlayan Emanuel Rego-Alison Cerutti ve Ricardo Santos-Marcio Araujo ikilileri de Brezilya Ulusal Plaj Voleybolu 2011 Sezonu’nun erkelerde en favori takımları arasında olacaklar.

Bayanlarda ise geçen senenin ilk üç takımı olan, Juliana Felisberta Silva-Larissa Franca, Talita Antunes-Mario Antonelli ve Maria Clara Salgado-Carolina Salgado ikililerini 2011 sezonunda da tekrar birarada izleme fırsatı bulacağız.Ana Paula-Renata Travisan ve Tatiana Lima-Vivian Cunha ise bayanlarda bu sezon izleyeceğimiz yeni takımlar.

Brazilian National Beach Volleyball Tour, Banco do Brasil Tour (volei de braia), marks 20th birthday with the start of 2011 season.The tournament which has played for the first time in 1991, will start on January 13 with the opening stop at Camburi Beach in Vitoria, Espirito Santo and will have 12 stops during this year.

In this pre-Olympic 2011 season we will see new Brazilian teams, not only on the national tour but also on the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour.

Last year's local champions, Pedro Cunha and Thiago Santos Barbosa, will not share the same side of the court in 2011, with Cunha having decided to resume his partnership with Pedro Salgado, with whom he played at the FIVB Junior World Championships and in the first semester of 2009. Thiago, meanwhile, has picked the world tour's Most Outstanding Player in 2008 and 2009, Harley Marques, to be his new partner.

Beijing silver medallist Fabio Luiz will also have a new partner in 2011. After playing with De Paula in 2010, he will have on his side this year the world tour's Most Improved Player of the last 12 months, Bruno Oscar Schmidt. Meanwhile, the legendary Franco Neto (birth:11.11.1966) will team up with youngster Lipe.

Of course we have to add last year’s amazing teams Emanuel Rego-Alison Cerutti and Ricardo Santos-Marcio Araujo.

In the female event, the top three teams of last season – Juliana/Larissa, Talita/Antonelli and the Salgado sisters, Maria Clara and Carolina – remain together while Olympians Ana Paula and Renata Trevisan will be reunited. Lima and Vivian, who finished second in the Austrian Grand Slam in 2010, will team up for the first time on Brazilian soil. Vieira and Leao have split, with the former allying herself with former Brazilian indoor player Raquel Pelucci and the latter joining forces with Shaylyn.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian Volleyball Federation has decided to improve its Under-21 tour and thus the tournament this year will feature 12 events, all to be played prior to the national tour stops in the same venues.
